Writing

In amongst my full time job, some other less full time work, my writing and my other interests (gaming, guitar, collapsing on the couch and failing to get up for hours, etc) I pursue my ambition to be an author. Primarily in sci-fi and fantasy, though I don’t intend to limit myself only to those genres if I prove able. Thus far, I have not submitted a finished novel to a publisher, so I’m not currently a failed author.

When I start laying out my idea for a story, I try and write a blurb for it first as a kind target. On this page I will post the current (stories will change as they’re being written) blurb(s) of story (or stories) I am trying to write. As I pointed out above, I don’t exactly have the spare time a full time author would to write, so progress is slow going.

But it is progress nonetheless.

Remember, all information on unfinished work can, and probably will change as it is written.

The Cradle of Knowledge

Madd University is the top teaching institution in the known world (and proof that even really intelligent minds can have an off day), and they’re sending an expedition deep into the ancient ruins of Lon to investigate a potentially dangerous discovery. Luren Fletch is a primary school teacher with a passion for teaching history.

So why has she been asked to go with them?

Luren finds that going on a historical expedition isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and that her colleagues are about as much use as a chocolate teapot. Can she uncover the mysteries of the ancient ruins? Or is she there for another reason?

About

My name is John Bullock, a technology and gaming enthusiast who, at the tender age of 27, is moving into the freelance writing scene.

With a hard drive full of creative writing pieces and inspiration from the likes of Terry Pratchett and Robert Rankin, my pieces are full of personality while maintaining a firm grasp on the truth and facts of the subject matter. My main areas of interest are technology, gaming, football (soccer), tennis and sci-fi/fantasy novels.

John Bullock lives in West Yorkshire, England with his girlfriend and months old son, and is approaching thirty with the kind of speed that would make sound cringe.
