Nearly a month in, this site is finding its feet quite nicely. As I’ve mentioned; I’ve started a number of sites with certain intentions, and just fallen out of the game. This is one case, it seems, where a clear goal is not helpful.

So, with this site, my intention was just to throw up nice looking WordPress template off of the interwebs, and write stuff. No specific agenda, although I did intend to make it tech-and-game-centric, but as those are my interests it would probably have been mostly that anyway.

It’s been nearly a month and, if anything, the site is picking up speed; with me posting at least one post a day for nearly two weeks now. I know its still early days, but I think I can be fairly confident I know where I’m going with jbullock.co.uk now; content creation.

Taking a cue from Stephen Fry, I’m going to use my site as a base for (hopefully) compelling content. Thoughts on News (ToN) will be a fixture, though it will probably become Monday to Friday, rather than every day, as it has been. I have one YouTube video that should be ready this week to test the video creation waters, and that took a great deal of getting over my disliking of my own voice to create!

There was loose intention of this site being a kind CV/Resume substitute to help me break into the world of writing, which I have no qualifications for, but that will take more of a back seat to my own little content empire. Like all bloggers, it would be an absolute dream to earn a living from my website; reading news stories and talking about games is something I do anyway. And, like most bloggers, it probably won’t happen, but you never know.

So, here’s the plan. I am on with a new site design, though I will be doing this around the site content creation, rather than in the past when I have stopped writing for my sites until the design is complete, so it may be a while before the site gets is make over. There is nothing wrong with the Hemingway design currently up on the website, but the new design will have the separation of content in mind, ie; keeping post like ToN and this separate.

ToN will continue to be a five day a week post, that is almost set in stone, and I also aim to throw up one blog post a week because, for some reason, a not insignificant number of people read them. Well, not insignificant to me. After that, I am going to try and post one article/feature/creative writing piece a week, though I don’t want to say for certain that this will be the case, especially if any of my YouTube content videos are successful, as I will want to do that regularly as well.

I have some other ideas, both daily and weekly, but as throwing up good ideas, and then failing to apply myself to them have been a theme of my Internet history, I’ll hold off declaring them until I am actually doing them!

So, there you have it; new design on the way, the content being put up now will continue to be put up in the mean time, and new content should be on the way. I look forward to pleasing your eyeholes (and possibly earholes in the future) with my words (and voice).
